Terms & Conditions for Proxy Bidding

Prospective proxy purchasers should complete and sign the proxy registration form at the bottom of this page indicating which property the bid refers to and the maximum amount the prospective proxy purchaser authorises the auctioneer to bid on his / her behalf.

A separate proxy registration form must be completed for each property.

The maximum amount must be an exact figure. (Such wording as £100 above the maximum bid) is not acceptable and the auctioneer reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any proxy bid should there be any confusion in respect of these instructions.

Completed proxy registration forms should be sent to the following address, 59 Llwyn Onn, Penderyn, Rhondda Cynon Taff. CF44 9YX with a valid cheque or bankers draft for 10% plus VAT of your maximum bid or £3000 plus VAT (whichever is the greater) and a buyers documentation fee of half of 1% plus VAT of your maximum bid or £500 plus VAT (whichever is the greater). Cheques will be returned to unsuccessful bidders after the auction has ended.

The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any proxy bid should there be any error or confusion in respect of the proxy registration form or accompanying deposit.

The completed proxy registration form and accompanied deposit must be received not less than 5 working days (excluding Saturday & Sunday) before the advertised auction date and any agreement to change the proxy bidding form must be in writing.

The prospective proxy purchaser authorises the auctioneer as agent to bid for the relevant lot on his / her behalf to the limit stated on the proxy registration form.

The prospective proxy purchaser is deemed to have inspected the relevant lot and general and special conditions of sale and notices including any addendum and to have full knowledge thereof and authorise the auctioneer to sign the memorandum of contract incorporating all such matters at or after the auction.

Prospective proxy purchasers may at any time up to the start of the auction in which the particular lot is to be sold, withdraw the auctioneers authority to bid on his / her behalf. The withdrawal must be in writing and it is the responsibility of the prospective proxy purchaser to ensure the auctioneer personally receives the instructions and to confirm with the auctioneer that such instructions have been received.

The auctioneer reserves the right to bid himself or via an agent up to but not at or beyond the reserve price of a particular lot and will accept no liability whatsoever for any bid not being made on behalf of the prospective purchaser through lack of clarity of instructions or any other reason whatsoever.

Should the prospective proxy purchaser wish to attend the auction and bid himself / herself or commission an agent to attend the auction and bid on his / her behalf, then this should be conveyed to the auctioneer in writing at the start of the auction. In this instance the auctioneer will not bid on behalf of the prospective proxy purchaser.

Prospective proxy purchasers are advised to check Property Auctions South Wales Ltd website on the day of the auction to ensure the property for which they intend bidding has not been withdrawn from the auction and to note any amendments to the particulars of sale or conditions relating to the lot.

Prospective purchasers will be deemed to have the knowledge of all / any amendments and will be bidding subject to them.

We do not operate telephone bidding at this time.
